A couple of weeks ago, I attended A Charitable Confection hosted by Grandbaby Cakes with my friend Lauren at the Chicago Urban Art Society. This event went beyond a charity bake sale because it opened its door to the community and raised money for Project Orange Tree, which is an active Chicago-based youth group that educates young people to stop violence and to empower youth through positive activities in their communities. It’s nice to give back to programs like these because they truly do benefit our youth. And on another note, I can’t resist a room full of desserts – especially mini ones. I wish I had more images to capture the night, but my camera battery apparently wasn’t charged. Looking forward to next year’s benefit.
