Smile because on Tuesdays (year-round), Illinois residents get free admission to the MCA! I’ve already been there two times this month to see the Murakami exhibit, The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg. Granted these photos were taken last Tuesday before the epic foot breaking accident, but nonetheless, they make me smile because healing days are ahead. Definitely see the exhibit before it ends September 24th.

A foot update: Since I’m going to be out of the country for a month, things are a little tricky with my foot. I’m skipping surgery because that’s just scary, so I’m going the boot and crutch route. It’s going to be uncomfortable and different, but I’ll be okay. It’s just another challenge I can overcome. Plus, my family will hopefully help me out 🙂 The whole situation is a bit overwhelming and unknown because I’ve only fractured my pinky in high school and I can’t even remember what that felt like anymore. I like to do things on my own, but I’ve had to really rely on my mom & dad, sister & brother-in-law, my cousin and my best friend for lots of help this week. I know my situation is temporary but I’m just grateful I have people in my life that can take care of me. I also appreciate all of the messages and well wishes from everybody. I’m on pain meds that also help a lot. I guess the Murakami exhibit and I have a lot in common after all.
