Brooklyn Burgundy & Black

Brooklyn Burgundy - 1This past holiday weekend, I went to New York with my sister to visit our brother and to do a little networking for Limani Designs. I had the best time hanging out in Brooklyn and being a little bit touristy in Manhattan, but not too much. The best part of going to New York is that I’ve already done a lot of tourist attractions, so now it’s even more fun exploring the neighborhoods and not dealing with the massive amount of crowds everywhere. I definitely blended in Brooklyn with my weekend color scheme of black and burgundy. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful weekend and stay tuned for more photos.Brooklyn Burgundy - 2 Brooklyn Burgundy - 3Brooklyn Burgundy - 5 Brooklyn Burgundy - 4

Happy Summer (officially)! For a Monday I’m feeling pretty fresh on the blog. There’s so much to catch up on as well like the amazing trip to New York City this past weekend, so bare with me with the upcoming posts that all are related to NYC. It was such a fun (blogger) trip with Jill and I feel as though I’ve been rejuvenated and inspiration has definitely already kicked in. I’m not even sure where to begin with all the people and events, let alone all the fashion that made this trip amazing.

It had been a couple of years since my last visit to The Big Apple, but this one goes down in the books. First of all, it was amazing because I saw my brother who lives in Brooklyn. I hadn’t seen him since the holidays and I loved hanging out with him. He’s seriously the best brother I could ever ask for! AND a million thank yous aren’t even enough for everything he did for me and my friend. I can’t wait to see him again.

Onto this look… White screams summer and I couldn’t help myself when I saw this fit & flare stripe strappy dress before I left. It was the perfect weight and style for a day exploring Brooklyn’s coffee shops and boutiques along with a stroll through Transmitter Park (more photos to come). For summer looks I like to keep the look simple and focus in on details. The subtle lines and fit make this dress a summer staple and can go from day to night. I can still feel the sunshine on my skin that clear crisp day while just roaming around the city soaking in everything.

Stay tuned this week for more from NYC and see a sneak peak through Instagram!
