1,000 Steps @ Dandenong National Park

1000-steps - 1I’m back in Chicago, but my mind and heart are still in Melbourne… It was so hard coming back and leaving my sister and my niece. I’m not sure when I’ll see them again, but I hope it’s sooner than later and not a year and a half like this time. I’ll always treasure the memories we made forever.

These photos are from our trip to the Dandenong National Park 1,000 steps. We had no clue what we were in for, but my mom, Fay and I made it to the top and we felt a sense of accomplishment. We challenged ourselves both mind and body and what a view from the top. We definitely felt the hike for several days, but it was all worth it. More Melbourne posts coming this week.

Brighton Bathing Boxes - 14What a beautiful day it was at Brighton Beach. Although we didn’t go for an actual swim, I did dip my toes in the ocean (sooo cold)! It was so fun looking at all the creative beach boxes. In the summer time, apparently this beach is the place to be with an abundance of activities. I’d sure love come back and have a bbq in one of those beach boxes! We couldn’t have asked for a better day! Brighton Bathing Boxes - 1 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 3 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 4 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 6 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 7 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 8 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 9 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 10Brighton Bathing BoxesBrighton Bathing Boxes - 11 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 12Brighton Bathing Boxes - 2 Brighton Bathing Boxes - 13Banana Republic: Sweater // Levi’s: Jeans (option) // Abound: T-Shirt (option) // Buckfeet c/o: Elephant Sneakers

Bucketfeet

bucketfeet - 17Last night I attended the press release party for the new Bucketfeet store in Bucktown (1647 N. Damen). This is the fourth company store company located in the heart of Bucktown/Wicker Park and the space is so open and welcoming. I love the concept of the company; giving artists opportunities to share their art worldwide. You can read some of the artists’ stories at the store or on the blog.

The concept started a few years ago when Co-Founder Aaron Fierstein designed a pair of shoes and gave them to Co-Founder Raja Nemani. From there, the rest is history and what turned out is a community of people supporting artists and spreading messages that art is really for everyone. You too can be a Bucketfeet designer by submitting your work online or in-store.

I did walk away with an awesome pair of sneakers and I can’t wait to wear them. Here’s a sneak peak. The grand opening is Thursday at 6:30, so if you’re in the area stop by!
