Roxy

pink skater dress with denim jacketI’m in LOVE with ROXY! I don’t think I’ve ever loved a “thing” as much as I do my new favorite crossbody handbag. I just think she’s the most adorable handbag in the world. If I can’t have fun with fashion, then I don’t want to be a style blogger!! Honestly, she was a bit of a splurge, but I just couldn’t help myself (use code SPICEITUP for an additional 25% off). Some people have pets, I have Roxy 🙂

Asides, proclaiming my love for Roxy, I love being on spring break. I know it’s Thursday and it’s my first post of the week, but I’ve been “relaxing” or at least trying to. Although, I would have preferred to be on vacation, I’ve been laying low at home. Most days I’ve been catching up on more reading and I saw season one of Stranger Things – so creepy. I know I’m behind on popular culture, but that’s what break is all about, right?!

Back to spring fashion! I’ve also done a lot of spring cleaning and listed a bunch of items in my closet. A good closet clean is great because I’m trying to wear my clothes as much as possible without buying new items. While doing so, I found my pins and spruced up my denim jacket. How cute is this cassette pin my sister got me from Paris last year! I’m obsessed. And this blue nail polish is from Paris too. The lizard is from Greece and the flower pin is from an old Nanette Lepore jacket that I’ve had for years. I don’t think Roxy minds sharing this outfit post with those friends. Now, if only spring break would last forever…

Moroccan Vibes

garfield park conservatoryWell well, Chicago, it looks like you decided to have winter after all, but luckily these Moroccan vibes are getting me through the day! One of my favorite hidden gems in the city is the Garfield Park Conservatory. It is way bigger than the Lincoln Park one and there are so many rooms full of such luscious plants and flowers. I do love visiting both of them though. It’s a great place to warm up and feel like you’re on vacation.

This fountain gives me all the Moroccan vibes. Morocco is a place I want to visit, so hopefully that will be happening soon. My spring break is also coming up and for once, I haven’t planned anything yet. I’m hoping I’ll find a last minute deal somewhere warm so I don’t have to keep visiting the conservatory, but that wouldn’t be a bad thing either. I’m definitely in a travel and summer mood though, so any recommendations are welcomed!

Have a wonderful week everybody and stay warm!

XO!

Zip It

zip-it-1This Tobi zip (it) dress is the perfect amount of edge and comfort. It’s also on super sale for $35 (it comes in gray too)! I can already foresee myself wearing this dress every weekend this fall. It’s fleeced lined too for those chillier fall days. I’m not quite ready for tights either, but I guess soon enough it will be necessary. The zippers on the elbows were what really drew me to this dress because I’ve never seen that before and the dress looked super comfy (which it is)!!

I also can’t believe that it’s already October. How did that happen already?! I also can’t believe that HAMR turned 4 years old a couple of days ago. Where did the time go?! I have to admit, I still have so much fun blogging and writing. HAMR really makes me happy even when other things in life aren’t going as planned. I’ve learned that blogging is what you make of it and I’ve made HAMR into something I never imagined I could create. I’m still learning lots about blogging after all these years, but that’s okay because I love being a student of the blog world, really. Thank you all so much for reading HAMR and for all your support. HAMR really is my baby and I love seeing her grow up.

XOXO,

Peggy
