Artists Monument

Artists Monument - 11On Saturday, I attended the unveiling ceremony of Chicago’s newest modern art public installation by Tony Tasset. The Artists Monument is made of laser etched Plexiglas on shipping containers 8’x80’x8′. The monument (located in Grant Park at 9th & S. Michigan Avenue), a tribute to all artists, has 392,485 names ranging from Pablo Picasso to Andy Warhol to emerging artists with a single exhibition in alphabetical order. I even got interviewed for the nightly news! Did anybody see it air?! The reception took place at Niu B, where I indulged a bit too much in all the delicious food. I just couldn’t resist the sushi rolls. The Monument will be displayed here until at least the spring and then will find its permanent home at the UIC campus.

Now, lets talk about what I wore to the ceremony! Saturday was the perfect day to wear this Humble Chic NY chiffon sleeveless blouse because it was in the mid 60s! I love the subtle high-lowness of it along with the pocket details – which I’m ALL about! I’m also sooo excited to be collaborating with Humble Chic that with code LIKEIT you can get 15% off the entire site. How amazing is that?! I can’t wait to show you what else is in the works! Short Skirt Long Jacket

Short Skirt Long Jacket - 2Is this what the band Cake was referring to when they said they wanted a girl with a short skirt and a long jacket?! 🙂 I’m in love with this vest my friends Esther and Brian got me for Christmas. It’s just what I was looking for – perfect for layering now in the deep freeze over Chicago.

It also still feels like Christmas because Anjolee sure know how to spoil a girl. They have the best sparkly jewelry at great prices. My favorites are the diamond hoop earrings, but I’m in love with these studs. Don’t worry, I’ll be featuring/wearing them from now until forever.

Hope everybody is staying warm.

Brooklyn Burgundy & Black

Brooklyn Burgundy - 1This past holiday weekend, I went to New York with my sister to visit our brother and to do a little networking for Limani Designs. I had the best time hanging out in Brooklyn and being a little bit touristy in Manhattan, but not too much. The best part of going to New York is that I’ve already done a lot of tourist attractions, so now it’s even more fun exploring the neighborhoods and not dealing with the massive amount of crowds everywhere. I definitely blended in Brooklyn with my weekend color scheme of black and burgundy. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful weekend and stay tuned for more photos.Brooklyn Burgundy - 2 Brooklyn Burgundy - 3Brooklyn Burgundy - 5 Brooklyn Burgundy - 4
