Stay Gold

stay-gold stay-gold stay-gold stay-goldstay-gold stay-gold stay-goldA couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of becoming Maria’s Godmother. It was such an important and eventful day for her, her family and me, of course.

In the Greek Orthodox faith, babies are baptized very young and there are many parts to the service. Maria was so good and didn’t even cry when the priest dunked her into the baptismal fountain. She kept smiling and really enjoyed her “bath”. She is the cutest little thing ever! It’s a really big responsibility to be a Godmother and being a part of Maria’s life is amazing. I can’t wait to teach her to Stay Gold and to see her grow up!

P.S. I look serious in some photos, but that’s because I had to focus on speaking Greek and making sure I didn’t mess up anything! Limani will also post photos of the party decor soon…

Two

twotwotwotwotwotwotwotwotwotwoTwo. Wow! Today marks my second blogiversary, if you couldn’t tell. I’m definitely in awe of what HAMR has evolved into in just two years and am so happy and appreciative of all the love and support from my readers.

I started HAMR two years ago with a mindset of self-discovery and documenting my evolving style. It was also a creative outlet for both my sister, Eleni and I to share our creativity and to focus our attention away from our day jobs; plus, it gave us an excuse to hang out together since we didn’t live together anymore. Eleni (and my mom Angie, who make up Limani Designs) not only takes my photos, but she’s really my number one supporter and I’d be lost without her.

I can’t even begin to thank everybody else who has supported me and has been here for me. So many great opportunities have happened with HAMR over the last year and I’m still amazed by it all. I’ve also met a great network of bloggers this past year and have formed some great friendships.

If you asked me last year if I expected any of this, I would have said no. I’ve been growing side by side with HAMR these last couple of years and I’m really excited to see what’s next for us.

XOXO,
Peggy

Camouflage

Last week a reader asked me how I would wear an anorak jacket and make it look trendy. The unexpected combination of this faux leather dress and camouflage anorak jacket and my go-to mesh booties is my answer. It’s a perfect look for transitioning into fall and starting to create those all-so-important layers. Stay tuned to see how I style my anorak others ways throughout the season.
