rainbow-lake-3I loved this secret hike to Rainbow Lake, Colorado, during Kristin’s wedding weekend extravaganza. We had some time before the festivities to soak up some nature and girl time. Kristin is really outdoorsy, so it was perfect that we all went on the hike and I was able to keep up 😉 The colors and beauty in Colorado never disappoint. I’m also glad the rain held off during our hike all the way until the end. Overall, it was such a fun day. Luv ya chica!!

Adventurer

Adventurer - 1Lately, I’ve been quite the adventurer! I love being on summer break because I get to explore the outdoors more and really appreciate nature. Last week I went to Starved Rock State Park with my sister and brother-in-law and we had so much fun on a hike. We couldn’t believe how beautiful the park was and how we felt like we were in a completely different place other than Illinois! I highly recommend going there if you need a little escape from the city.

Earlier this summer, I went on an amazing volunteering trip to the Dominican Republic. I did have some time though to explore the natural beauty of the country as well. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the Dominican Republic, I HIGHLY recommend going to the Damajaqua Cascades (27 Waterfalls)! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I went with my friend Sapna and some other friends we met on the cruise and had the most fun day ever. Waterfalls are my favorite natural element and I couldn’t help myself from smiling and laughing the whole time because I really was having the time of my life (I may have swallowed some water due to this, but it didn’t matter)!!! Also, definitely stop by Las Cuevas De Cabarate for some cave jumping and swimming.

What both of these adventures had in common was my Jambu Oklahoma shoes! They are seriously the most comfortable exploring shoes ever and without them, I don’t believe my adventures could have been as fun as they were. They were able to keep my feet safe and cute while trekking through waterfalls and trails. Get yourself outside adventuring too and order a pair of the exclusive for Nordstrom Oklahoma’s now during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! You’ll thank me later 😉

Zion National Park Photo Journal

Zion National Park Photo Journal - 1I’m kind of obsessed with today’s photo journal from Zion National Park. Jill and I felt like we were on set at Jurassic Park when we arrived. The grandeur and beauty of this place was truly amazing! We drove about 4 and a half hours from Salt Lake City to Zion. We had so much fun just driving there, but our hiking experience will forever be memorable. We have both hiked before, but we decided to try the strenuous Angels Landing Trail. Oh boy, we were definitely in for a treat. The entire hike took us about four hours, but the views were worth the time. We kept hiking and hiking and finally we made it to the top. The craziness about this hike was that once we thought we were at the top, we had to use a metal chain with two way traffic to go up even higher right at the ledge of the boulders. This definitely tested my fear of heights. I still get a bit shaky thinking about it.. Anyway, the way down was a lot better because we had done something we both didn’t know we could do and it felt really great!

After grabbing a bite to eat in town, it was my turn to drive us towards Bryce Canyon for the night because the next day we were going to explore there. Let me tell you this, I think I had more fear driving through the winding roads through the mountains and tunnels more than the actual climb. That was also an experience that I would never forget. I highly recommend if you get a chance to visit this National Park. Bryce photo journal is up next.

Have a wonderful weekend!

XOXO!
