Meet Mireya, or Mire. Mire is one of my most lively people I know and long time friend. She is so energetic and smiley all the time. Her fun personality shines through her personal style and her creative nail art. Mire is often referred to as Beyoncé because let’s face it – they could be clones of each other! I also like to refer to Mireya as my personal Chicago insider because she knows all the hotspots and local secrets. Read more about this fashionista below.

5 Minutes With Mireya

HAMR: What is your occupation?
Mireya: Currently I am living life to the fullest. I have worked in Entertainment, in one way or another, for the last nine years. I started off working with the Chicago Cubs, then moved on to work at Live Nation. Sports and music have been a fun and great experience. Now, I am just trying to figure out what I would like to do next. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.

HAMR: Describe your style?
Mireya: I don’t have a set style. You’ll typically find me in dresses and skirts. I’m always comfortable in what I wear though. My style leans towards casual with a bit of glam – Beyonce inspired. I like to take one key piece and make many outfits out of it.

HAMR: What’s your go-to accessory?
Mireya: My go-to accessory is my Michelle watch because I can change the wristband to match any outfit; BUT I love ALL accessories! I often remind myself to, as Coco Chanel put it, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory.”

HAMR: What’s in your bag currently?
Mireya: I’m a very organized person. Everything in my purse has a place. First, you’ll find my wallet. This is probably my favorite item. It’s the Chicago flag made out of recycled newspapers from India. I bought it a few years back at Lollapalooza in the “green” area. Then, it’s my Mickey Mouse notepad. Last, but not least is my beauty bag. This has everything and anything… nail file, mints, pens, sharpie, USB drive, bottle opener, hand sanitizer, tissue, lipstick, lip line, lip gloss, chapstick, lotion, lint roller and so much more!

HAMR: What’s your favorite Chicago spot?
Mireya: This is very hard. I love Chicago and have many go-to spots depending on the neighborhood I’m in. Hmmm… For restaurants I have to say that Green Tea will always be my favorite sushi place and Sabatino’s will always be my favorite Italian restaurant. For stores, I like to shop boutiques in Roscoe Village. Aside from that, I enjoy the museums and usually hit them up at least once a year along with Lincoln Park Zoo. Zoo Lights here I come!!!

Transitioning into fall can sometimes be difficult. You don’t want to dwell into your winter wardrobe just yet, but you don’t want to let go of your summer wardrobe either. One way of not letting go of that summer wardrobe just yet is by transitioning your favorite article of clothing into a more fall appropriate look.

Take your favorite floral summer maxi dress and just add a leather jacket; right away you have transitioned that summer look into a fall floral look (try saying that three times fast). I love the bright pink florals of this maxi dress because they make me feel happy and definitely brighten my mood. How do you transition your favorite summer article of clothing?
