Be Kind Today (And Everyday)

be-kind-today-and-everyday-1Be kind today (and everyday)! This is such a great motto to start the week with. It’s not hard to be kind to one another and to put yourself in somebody else’s shoes. I tell my students everyday to be kind and good people and I do the same. I might get annoyed at certain things or people from time to time, but it’s important to stay positive and to just be kind.

I love how Doc Shorty also believes in this motto. Ryan and his wife, started this amazing company and named it after Ryan’s late grandfather whom Ryan always looked up to because he had a hard work ethic and loved to make people smile. Although Ryan’s grandfather passed away, his nickname for Ryan stuck around. Not only is Doc Shorty all about motivation and happiness, but 10% of their profit is donated to Multiple Sclerosis research. How awesome is that?! Trust me when they say that they have the softest shirts, that it’s actually true! This tee is sooo soft, under thirty bucks and made in the U.S.A. WOW. They have many cute quotations, so check them out here.

My newest obsession is metallics. I can never get enough of “shiny things”. Also, with the holidays fast approaching, adding a little sparkle to your look is always a win-win situation. For a subtle approach try a metallic manicure or dress up your mini iPad with a metallic case. If you’re feeling bold, go with a statement dress or shoes. Most importantly, wear a smile because your smile should be the shiniest statement piece you wear.

twotwotwotwotwotwotwotwotwotwoTwo. Wow! Today marks my second blogiversary, if you couldn’t tell. I’m definitely in awe of what HAMR has evolved into in just two years and am so happy and appreciative of all the love and support from my readers.

I started HAMR two years ago with a mindset of self-discovery and documenting my evolving style. It was also a creative outlet for both my sister, Eleni and I to share our creativity and to focus our attention away from our day jobs; plus, it gave us an excuse to hang out together since we didn’t live together anymore. Eleni (and my mom Angie, who make up Limani Designs) not only takes my photos, but she’s really my number one supporter and I’d be lost without her.

I can’t even begin to thank everybody else who has supported me and has been here for me. So many great opportunities have happened with HAMR over the last year and I’m still amazed by it all. I’ve also met a great network of bloggers this past year and have formed some great friendships.

If you asked me last year if I expected any of this, I would have said no. I’ve been growing side by side with HAMR these last couple of years and I’m really excited to see what’s next for us.

Take a look back to my first blogiversary.
