Fashion Outlets of Chicago

Fashion Outlets of Chicago - 1The most important post of my staycation in Rosemont is the Fashion Outlets of Chicago! It is home to more than 130 designer outlets along with beautiful contemporary art and high-end amenities. It is Midwest’s only two-story indoor outlet shopping center and with chilly temps lately in Chicago, it definitely is the perfect place for some indoor fun! The Outlets are anchored by Bloomingdale’s The Outlet Store, Forever 21, Last Call by Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th AND Nordstrom Rack will soon be opening there as well. I can’t wait!! Where else can you buy your basics from GAP, J. Crew, Banana Republic to higher end brands such as Prada, DVF, Gucci, etc… all under ONE roof?! Make sure to stop by The Outlets by this weekend because they will be wrapping up their Chinese New Year celebrations along with special discounts.

Who knew that Rosemont had so much to offer. Easy access from the city and it’s suburban appeal, cater to everybody’s likes. I hope you all enjoyed my staycation and if you’re also in the area on May 8th, make sure to check out the unveiling of the newly renovated waterfall on the corner of River Road and Higgins Road. Happy 60th birthday Rosemont!!!

MB Financial Park @ Rosemont

mb park general1Ladies and gentlemen, I have researched all that MB Financial Park at Rosemont has to offer, so trust my expertise when I say you have to try and go everywhere in this post. Don’t worry, I also ate and drank at ten locations in one night and nearly passed out from food overload, but it was all in the name of research 😉 The greatest thing about staying at Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel from yesterday’s post was that it was seriously steps away from the Park. MB Financial Park truly has something for everyone no matter what age. From food and drinks, to skydiving, bowling, movies and top ranked comedians in the country, you never know what excitement you’ll experience in the Park. Let me also preface, that I had already eaten at Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel right before this tour.

FOOD & DRINK

Sugar Factory

The first stop of the night was The Sugar Factory. I could have stopped right there because I legit felt like a little kid in a candy store and didn’t want to leave! There is such a fun vibe from the moment you enter with a red carpet entrance, to the crazy amounts of candy and the very chic restaurant area including a heated patio. The Sugar Factory is well known for their legendary smoking candy goblets = AMAZING!!!

Park Tavern

Next on the tour was Park Tavern which is a contemporary spin on the gastropub experience. They have over 40 craft beers on tap and the best grilled cheese sandwiches! There’s also a rooftop bar that I can’t wait to check out in the summer.

Fogo De Chao

Alright, now this is what I call an authentic experience. It felt like I was really in Brazil especially with the help of the caipirinhas that were simply PERFECT!!! Even if you don’t love big amounts of meat, you can enjoy their massive salad bar and lunch specials. I will definitely be going back real soon.

Adobe Gila’s

Adobe, what can I say?! You never have to stop me from talking about Mexican food and drinks. I loved the table-side fresh guacamole and margaritas. They are known for their fishbowl sharable drink and live entertainment every night of the week along with the huge TVs – perfect for game day.

Five Roses Irish Pub

My favorite part of Five Roses Irish Pub was this gorgeous library room! You truly feel like you came out of an Irish romantic novel eating the most amazing fish and chips in the “city” and sipping on some dark beer. Interesting facts about this restaurant is  that the mahogany bar was handcrafted in Belfast, most of the furnishings and decor were imported from Ireland and it was named after the late Rosemont Mayor Donald E. Stephens. Also, in the summer, it’s a great spot for the outdoor concerts. Thank me in a couple of months.

Hofbrauhaus

If you’re also looking for another cultural experience, look no further than a couple of buildings away to Hofbrauhaus. It’s a one-of-a-kind German micro-brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden modeled after the 400-year-old original in Munich. Basically, if you like beer go here. I am a fan of the pretzels, just saying. There’s live entertainment and always a packed house.

ENTERTAINMENT

Zanies Comedy Club

There are three Zanies locations in Illinois – Rosemont, Chicago and St. Charles. They all bring in hilarious stand up comedians in an intimate setting. Who wouldn’t want a night of laughs, drinks and food?! Afterall, isn’t comedy the best medicine around?!

Kings Bowl

Onto Kings… I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of Kings in Lincoln Park a few months back and this location doesn’t disappoint either. This location has 20 state of the art ten pin bowling lanes, two full service bars, a boutique billiards lounge, 60 HD televisions and a separate full service restaurant with patio seating. My favorite part was the private bowling lanes, I won’t reveal my score – let’s just say that the swedish fish drinks had something to do with my outcome…

Muvico & Bogarts

Now I can definitely get behind dinner and a movie at the same place. Muvico is unique in that you can order food to eat while you watch the latests films. You can also just grab dinner and drinks at Bogarts in a vintage looking lounge and enjoy your night.

iFLY

I’m going to be honest here. My intentions were to try iFLY, but I apparently ate and drank at ten restaurants in about two hours, so unfortunately this didn’t happen for me. No worries, I will definitely try it soon though… iFLY creates a true free falling skydiving experience without the actual fear of jumping out of an airplane – eek! If you aren’t feeling the daredevilish feeling, you can always go to the upper level and enjoy the crazy stunts by the professionals and amateurs 🙂

Are you hungry or thirsty from reading all this?! Stay tuned for the last post on the Chicago Fashion Outlets tomorrow.

Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel

standard February 9, 2016 1 response

Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel - 5Two weekends ago, I had an amazing staycation with one of my best friends in Rosemont. We had so much fun staying at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel, eating and taking in everything at MB Financial Park and shopping until we dropped at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. This is going to be a three-part blog post because there is seriously so much to do in Rosemont. It’s also their 60th anniversary, so there are special events happening around town all the time.

Located right by O’Hare airport and a quick ride on 90W from Chicago, the hotel is the perfect spot to get a city feel without the city fuss or if you’re visiting from out of town, the perfect place to stay and visit with Blue Line easy transit. Our room was beautiful and comfortable AND we had an incredible view of the skyline! Loews is very unique, in that, it has its own art gallery and is home to The Ashburn, a fresh gastro-pub inspired by Chicago’s first airport, Ashburn Flying Field. From delicious bites, to modern takes on classic dishes, to the amazing signature cocktails, The Ashburn is a must-eat destination in Rosemont.

Rosemont parts two and three coming soon…
