I had a very nice relaxing weekend celebrating Greek Easter and hanging out with some friends. It was bittersweet actually because I had to say “see you soon” to one of my best friends (since 1st grade) because she’s moving to Colorado. It wasn’t a goodbye because I will definitely see her again and honestly, I’m not really good at goodbyes. I’ve said too many in my life and it doesn’t get any easier; trust me. I have family all over the place and it’s sad when you have to leave each other. I’m happy for her though and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she does there. Miss you already chica – love ya!
On another note, at least I can finally hear birds chirping outside again; a sure sign of spring’s arrival. I’ve also transitioned out of wearing only black and white; I know, what a surprise. It’s funny how a little bit of sun and one layer can make you feel oh so happy. I’m also happy because my hair is finally getting longer again to do fun braid styles like this one that Marisol from Goldplaited whipped up. She’s so talented – definitely visit her at the finishing salon in Lincoln Park. April showers do bring May flowers, so in the meantime make sure you have your trusty rain coat because you never know when it’s going to rain. Wear monochromatic for a classic look or funk it up with a floral print of bright color. What’s your preference?
Hello, Spring! I’ve been waiting for you for a looong time. I can’t wait to see all the flowers bloom and to see color everywhere. My mood definitely gets better when the weather does. I know it shouldn’t, but I can’t help myself. I’m also excited for spring not only because I get to wear my favorite dresses, but it’s a lot easier to practice my photography when it’s nice out.
On another note, I created this print with my own picture. Isn’t it so cute?! It’s really easy to make prints like this right on your phone. First, take a picture of a subject. I chose these beautiful pink flowers from when I went to the Lincoln Park Conservatory a few weeks back. I like to use VSCOcam app (free, but you can upgrade for more filters) because it gives you filters, like an original Kodak photo. Remember those and when you actually had to print out your photos and heaven forbid wait an hour to get them back?! Then I used the A Beautiful Mess app (only $0.99 – a bargain if you ask me to upgrade your skills) by using my photo as the background and then choosing the border and writing the text. It’s really that simple.
