Love is definitely in the air in Bucktown! I wouldn’t want to live in any other Chicago neighborhood. It also just happens that one of my favorite artists, Matthew Hoffman’s new love art installation is in Bucktown. A couple of years ago, I saw his You Are Beautiful show (1, 2, 3), thanks to my friend DuShaun, and fell in love. A simple and positive message can mean so much. Here’s hoping we all can all help spread the love message because love is all we really need! <3
Don’t we all wish we were at Paris Fashion Week?! Back in high school I went to Paris and fell in love with the city. It was an amazing experience playing my cello with the orchestra at different venues, but even as a teenager I knew that I wanted to go back and really experience the city’s culture. I had an amazing time and still reminisce about my experience and who knows, maybe this time next year I’ll find myself in this magical city again. I definitely have the coordinates down pat and a new passport is on its way…
A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of becoming Maria’s Godmother. It was such an important and eventful day for her, her family and me, of course.
In the Greek Orthodox faith, babies are baptized very young and there are many parts to the service. Maria was so good and didn’t even cry when the priest dunked her into the baptismal fountain. She kept smiling and really enjoyed her “bath”. She is the cutest little thing ever! It’s a really big responsibility to be a Godmother and being a part of Maria’s life is amazing. I can’t wait to teach her to Stay Gold and to see her grow up!
P.S. I look serious in some photos, but that’s because I had to focus on speaking Greek and making sure I didn’t mess up anything! Limani will also post photos of the party decor soon…
