‘Tis the plaid coat season.  I found this coat on sale at ZARA a few weeks ago and thought it’d be a great addition to the coat collection. You can never have enough coats in Chicago! Because we wear coats about 10 months out of the year (I’m not exaggerating), you get tired of seeing the same one, so when the opportunity to snag one up for $39.99, I needed to get it! I like this one in particular because it’s a bit oversized so it will leave enough room for some extra layers. I have also been wanting a green coat, but didn’t want to go full out green and this one is just the right amount of green.

Do you ever buy something and say that one day you’ll wear it? I have a couple of color tights that I always wear like the standard black, dark gray, brown, blue and purple but I’ve been stashing this green one and some other fun colors just waiting for the right opportunity to wear them on full display and these green tights added the perfect green I was looking for to complete the look.

I’ve also realized that I’ve been wearing these shorts a lot lately (worn here with blue tights) because they are warm and super cute, if I do say so myself. Some other fun tidbits about this outfit is that this little brown vintage handbag from Greece is 25 years old and still holds all of my essentials! I’ve also had this flower ponytail holder for years and I finally wore it. I don’t know why I hadn’t worn it before, but it’s the final touch of what this outfit needed.
