Effortlessly Chic

grey slouchy trench coatI’m all about being effortlessly chic. Yes, I put a lot of effort in making sure I’m put together for the day, but it honestly doesn’t take me too much time to figure that all out. I used to plan my outfits the night before work, but now I really just go for what’s up front in my closet, what will be comfortable for the day and how I’m feeling at that moment. I definitely dress for my mood and although planning my outfits ahead of time saved time, I feel like I know what I have in my closet and dressers and where it is that enables me to save time still. I guess I’ve developed some sort of photographic memory which helps me. I downsize my closet every season which also helps my situation with knowing where everything is. Having staple pieces in my closet is also beneficial because I know they are there for me whenever I want to wear them.

I also love mixing high and low labels and a good bargain! Take for instance my Oscar De La Renta sweater with a Forever 21 coat. If I didn’t tell you the labels, would you have known?! I feel like it doesn’t matter what’s on the price tag as long as you feel great in what you’re wearing. Some pieces are worth the investment and some pieces are just really cute 🙂michael kors burgundy handbag laughing motion in wicker park chicago illinois grey cream burgundy ootd combination chicago blogger peggy kollias in wicker park colorful mural in chicagoOscar De La Renta: Sweater (option) // Dearborn Denim: Jeans (option) // Banana Republic: Shoes // Forever21: Coat (option) // Michael Kors: Handbag (option) // Ralph Lauren: Sunglasses (option)
