Little Mermaid

I’m channeling a modern day Little Mermaid by the “sea,” also known as Lake Michigan 🧜🏻‍♀️.

I can’t believe that it’s been thirty years since The Little Mermaid was first introduced to the world. I did an Instagram post on this a few weeks ago, but I just love the simplicity of this look and so I decided to write a full post and because it’s really hard just choosing one photo to publish.

I felt like a total land mermaid with this outfit. I’ve actually had all these pieces in my closet already. I loved being creative with my looks, so when I was looking in said closet, I was like this could totally work. Ariel “wears” a purple shell bikini top so I obviously substituted this for a silk cami and her fins are green, so naturally a pleated mint midi skirt did the job. I don’t have her red hair, but I did have a red bow headband. I also wore my pearl necklace for some sea vibes. See, anybody can be a real life princess and get stuff done at work and be a boss girl 😉

I love how Disney is making a live action version of The Little Mermaid. It’s nostalgic that all these movies are being remade because you get to think back to where you saw the animated version. I remember my first Disney movie in the theater was The Lion King. To this day, it’s my favorite Disney movie. I also can’t wait to see the new version soon! What’s your favorite Disney movie?

💋,

Peggy
