Thirty Three

Thirty-three. WOW. Well, today is my birthday. And I honestly don’t feel old at all. I’ve actually been waiting for this birthday to come around because there’s this term called, Jesus Year. It’s not religious or anything like that, but it represents a year of adventure, growing wisdom and a year of fulfilling promises. I heard about this a while back and it really stuck. I’m hoping this year will be my best year yet and my happiest. It’s taken me a while to be comfortable with myself and to surround myself with genuine people who care about me and vice versa , but I think I’ve figured out some things and where I belong.

Last week’s election results have really affected me and all I want to say about that is that I’m going to continue to surround myself with positive people and people that have the same beliefs and values as I do. My life motto truly has a deeper meaning now, more than ever ~ “You have to look good, to feel good, to do good,” and that’s what I am going to continue to do. With that, I have some more celebrating to do tonight.

Western-ish - 3Why must all fun things come to an end, like my western-ish trip?! I had the best time over spring break in Utah and Colorado and I will post photo journals soon. I’m always in awe at all the natural beauty that doesn’t involve skyscrapers and both states didn’t disappoint. Before I indulge in trip details, I had to post this outfit because it definitely made my version of the Utah fashion scene cut.

I scored this fringe sweater at Nordstrom Rack before I left for $5! Yes, you read that correctly 🙂 Things just happen at the most random times, but it just so happened that I found this skirt at Old Navy in Salt Lake City for less than $5 as well. They couldn’t have paired better with each other even if I had forced it! And since I had packed only a few items, these Hush Puppies booties and my Accessory Mercado earrings were the perfect finishes to my outfit. I love the movability of these Ellen earrings and the versatility of them because they can be worn as studs or with the dangling extensions. How cool is that?! Use my code HAMR on Accessory Mercado and receive 15% off your entire purchase. Now, that’s what I call a super bonus deal!

P.S. Eva’s Bakery has the best desserts in town (Salt Lake City) and it felt like I was in France!

Plum Stripes + Polka Dots

Plum Stripes + Polka Dots - 1Happy Monday! I’m happy that there is one week left until winter break and I’m sooo ready for it! I also can’t believe that 2015 is quickly coming to an end.

Now that the holiday season is in full force, instead of wearing the traditional red and green colors, I opted for plum hues and dark aqua green adding some stripes and polka dots this past weekend. Also, the fact that I didn’t need a coat this weekend is completely insane, but at least I get more wear out of my clothes.
