Birds

birds1I had a very nice relaxing weekend celebrating Greek Easter and hanging out with some friends. It was bittersweet actually because I had to say “see you soon” to one of my best friends (since 1st grade) because she’s moving to Colorado. It wasn’t a goodbye because I will definitely see her again and honestly, I’m not really good at goodbyes. I’ve said too many in my life and it doesn’t get any easier; trust me. I have family all over the place and it’s sad when you have to leave each other. I’m happy for her though and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she does there. Miss you already chica – love ya!

On another note, at least I can finally hear birds chirping outside again; a sure sign of spring’s arrival. I’ve also transitioned out of wearing only black and white; I know, what a surprise. It’s funny how a little bit of sun and one layer can make you feel oh so happy. I’m also happy because my hair is finally getting longer again to do fun braid styles like this one that Marisol from Goldplaited whipped up. She’s so talented – definitely visit her at the finishing salon in Lincoln Park.

Camo

Camo

With it being Veteran’s Day today, camouflage never goes out of style and is always trending. It’s a classic look and worn in moderation, really makes a statement. My favorite twist on camo is the sequin jacket and skirt and metallic pumps. How do you camo?

Anorak

anorak

With the chillier weather rapidly approaching, my go to layering piece is my anorak jacket. I actually got a blue camouflage one back in June when I was in New York. I knew that it’d be a staple piece for fall and I couldn’t beat the $50 price tag (it’ll be making it’s debut soon). Most anorak jackets are lightweight and have a hood as a bonus. They’re perfect for those crisp fall days and have enough room for all your other layers.
