Plum Peplum

plum peplum peggy kolliasDo you ever go window shopping with no intention of buying something just to browse for inspiration and then stumble upon a magical dress for the right price? Well, that’s just what happened with this plum peplum dress which was from Eva Longoria’s Limited collection. It was only $30 because the store was closing, so it’s unfortunate that it closed, but I’m lucky that I found it 🙂 It really is a magical dress because once I’m zipped up, it hugs everything in the right place and the perfect amount. I never wear body forming dresses, but I decided to take a fashion risk with this one and it worked in my favor.

For a brief moment, it was safe to wear this dress with no tights, but it’s back to wearing tights. And since it’s since technically winter, I wore a moto leather jacket to make the dress a bit more funky. I really like the side asymmetrical peplum of this dress because usually peplum goes all around the waist and this one is different, which I like. I also can’t stop wearing these ZARA heels. For their height, they’re actually quite comfortable and basically match my entire winter wardrobe.

On another note, I have a fun girls’ night dinner planned tonight (maybe I’ll wear this ‘lil number again) and I can’t wait! It’s basically the only thing getting me through this dreary rainy day…

Daisies

daisies daisiesdaisies daisies daisies daisiesdaisiesI went from transitioning my summer florals to fall florals, then wearing my fall florals to wearing my winter florals all within two weeks. I feel like winter is rapidly approaching and I’m not ready for it (stay away polar vortex). I suppose if I’m going to have to deal with colder weather, I might as well try to keep some summer vibes alive with these pretty daisies. This is currently the cutest and most fun sweater in my closet right now and the coziest. I like wearing bold statement sweaters like this one and try to stay away from those mundane sweaters that bring those winter blues and not the pretty blue hues. If I’m going to be cold, I might as well wear something cute and warm.

On a side note, I’m officially an aunt for the first time. My younger sister Afroditi, who lives in Melbourne, gave birth to a healthy baby girl this weekend. I’m so happy for her and her husband and can’t wait to meet baby Vasiliki!! Sending virtual congratulatory summer daisies to Australia.

Have a great week everybody!

xoxo

November

novembernovember november november november novembernovemberIt’s the first Monday of November and I couldn’t be happier. November is my favorite month, not just because it’s my birthday month, but because there is so much happening. The colors on the fallen leaves, scarf season, tights with boots, the beginning of a new school quarter, the anticipation of the holidays and new dresses, of course, are just a few of my favorite things about November.

Speaking of dresses, you all know how much I love them. Rarely, have I ever not fallen for a dress. This printed silk pintuck dress from Territory Ahead is the perfect fall floral dress. I just love all the details – the pleats, buttons and pockets! With my moto leather jacket and over the knee boots, I was able to tackle life’s adventure in the Windy City this past weekend.
