Groovy, Baby

groovy-baby01I’m definitely loving the 70s trend right now. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong decade, based on fashion trends, of course. This is actually my first time wearing high-waisted jeans ever. At first, I was a bit apprehensive, but I think I really like them. It’s also a bonus that they’re flared. This look was so easy to put together and it makes me feel care free. I’m definitely channeling Austin Powers and feeling quite groovy, baby that is. It also helped that the weather this weekend was beautiful to wear an outfit like this quite early in the season. You won’t be seeing flowers in my hair just yet, but you never know… Here’s to a high of 70 today!

If you have a chance to go to The Metropolitan Museum by February 1st, I highly recommend visiting the Death Becomes Her, A Century of Mourning Attire exhibit at the Costume Institute. I went with my brother a few weeks back and had a great time. Although it was a dark exhibit it was really interesting and the gowns were beautiful.

Here are some of our instagrams from the exhibit:

I also attended my first art installation: tears become… streams become at the Park Avenue Armory. That exhibit has finished, but  there’s a cool video on the website. Again, it was a bit dark, but I guess our theme for the trip was dark art, but beautiful art.

Then we decided to take some photos in Egypt…

Sweet & Spark

sweet-and-sparksweet-and-sparksweet-and-sparksweet-and-spark sweet-and-sparksweet-and-spark sweet-and-sparkHappy Thanksgiving friends! I’m thankful for a lot of reasons today and every day. I’m thankful for my family and friends near and far, my jobs and for life’s moments good and bad because they remind me to appreciate the small things in life that really matter.

Since this is the beginning of the holiday season, it’s easy to get wrapped up into the business of the holidays, but remember take the time to appreciate life and what’s important to you.

As promised, here are a few snapshots of my Sweet & Spark vintage birthday brunch that I hosted in my apartment a few weeks back. I appreciate everybody that was able to celebrate my day and am thankful for all the love.

xoxo,
Peggy
