Milwaukee Art Museum[show_shopthepost_widget id=”2695702″]If you ever want to escape Chicago for a few hours then Milwaukee is your place and there are some fun activites to do there. The main reason I ventured to Milwaukee was because I heard there was a really nice art museum there. It wasn’t hard to convince Xristina, my cousin, to explore with me so we drove the less than two hour drive to Milwaukee. Milwaukee is a small city compared to Chicago, but it’s charming in its own way.

Anyway, the museum really did live up to all the hype I had heard. It’s a beautifully designed structure and the exhibits were curated really nicely. You can easily spend a couple hours just digesting all the art.Ceiling in the Milwaukee Art MuseumEven the main entrance ceiling and the hallways are so beautiful! The next few photos are of some of the art pieces that struck out to me. The thing about art museums, is that you sometimes become the art as well 🙂

How amazing is that?! Seriously, this bag is amazing. After the art museum, we got pretty hungry, and we ate at Cafe Benelux. We sat outside on their rooftop terrace and soaked in more of that Memorial Day sun. I devoured the eggs benedict in record timing.. oops.Well it’s not a complete meal without a little bubbly!colectivo coffeeAfter lunch, we picked up some Colectivo Coffee and continued our exploration of the city.P.S. I believe they just opened a Colectivo Coffee in Lincoln Park – make sure to get a dirty chai! Then we made our way to Swing Park which is under an overpass. I like going to off the beat places that are unique and Swing Park was fun. I definitely did swing at my own risk and you’re never ‘too’ old to swing, by the way 😉Black Alley Cat Butterfly MuralOur last stop in Milwaukee was the Black Cat Alley outdoor mural gallery. We almost missed it because it was in an alley, but we were glad we found it! The last outdoor mural gallery I went to was in Austin with Xristina, so it was only fitting that we stopped by this one. But I do have to say that Hosier Lane is my ultimate favorite outdoor mural gallery 😉 I’m always amazed at the artists’ works of art. They were so creative and impressive!Fishsidewalk artOverall, we had a great time exploring Milwaukee. As first time visitors, I think we covered some good ground and then hopefully next time we can explore other places in the city. On a side note, I edited these photos a bit differently than my usual outfit blog photos. I hope you like the art direction I took with them on this post 🙂
