Anana, you say? Well, I think my obsession with pineapples stems from the Greek word ανανάς (anana). It just rolls off your tongue as you say it. So back to pineapples… Before D and I went to our East Coast trip we knew we wanted to rent bikes in Nantucket, so then we had an issue. What do you wear on a bike ride? Well, we couldn’t wear our beach dress cover ups, so I opted for a pineapple print romper. It was perfect for our leisure bike ride that ended up being twelve miles instead of the six we had intended. Let’s just say the island of Nantucket needs to better label their bike paths. Anyway, at the end of our ride we were able to take in the beautiful scenery and the wild waves (I should have brought my surfboard along).
For some reason I can’t escape pineapples (more on that tomorrow), so when the Limani Designs team decided to take a quick trip up to Michigan this past weekend, one could just imagine my surprise at the farmer’s market when I stumbled upon this non-edible pineapple. It’s the perfect accessory to the burgundy ikat dress I picked up from Madewell a few weeks back which by the way is the most comfortable summer dress ever. You’ll never hear me complain about fruit and who ever said fruit isn’t good for you was wrong!
P.S. the pineapple was later gifted to my friends who live in Michigan 😉
I’m already gearing up for the 4th of July this upcoming weekend by channeling Ms. July in this playful printed stars pocket dress. Nothing says America like red, white and blue especially sitting on a Chicago Fire Department truck. Besides holiday fashion, I’m really looking forward to a bbq this weekend and some quality time with the sun and even possibly watching fireworks at the park. What are you plans for the holiday weekend?
